All of a sudden temperatures rose from low forties to the mid-eighties, and so out came frosty things I only enjoy when hit with a heatwave. When it is blistering hot, I want nothing more.
I was mid-chapter on a writing project, and needed to feel refreshed fast. Inspired by a recent conversation about lavender, and having just witnessed a squirrel eat my strawberry starts, I made a quick frozen froth incorporating the two. Adding one scoop of Aloha vanilla protein powder delicately sweetened the blend, and a dribble of lemon juice and pinch of sea salt really brightened the flavor.
Makes: one 12-ounce froth
Ingredients:
3/4 cup ice cold water
6-8 frozen strawberries
3-4 large ice cubes
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
1 scoop Aloha vanilla protein powder
1/2 teaspoon lavender blossoms
Pinch sea salt
1 tablespoon local bee pollen
Preparation:
In a high-speed blender combine water, strawberries, ice, lemon juice, protein powder, lavender, and sea salt. Blend on high for only twenty seconds to keep the blend in a frosty state. Transfer to a glass, and top with bee pollen. Enjoy!
